Since late last year, local favourite café, Social-Laneway, has been transforming into a wine bar after 5:00pm on Thursday and Friday til 10:00pm.

Offering a live DJ, an extensive tapas menu and a selection of wine, Belgian beer and cider, owners Robert Ian Bonnick and Marina Agustina, said nights are becoming busier and busier.

“At 5:00pm on Thursday and Friday, the coffee machine stays on, the decks come out and we go into wine bar mode with local music or one of Sydney’s best DJs. Our menu is geared towards tapas, but we have a range of antipasto platters, our famous spicy meatballs and you can even order breakfast,” explains Rob.

Rob, who runs the café with partner, Marina, and their eight month old daughter, Alexa-Rose, said the café has been designed around creating a village atmosphere, so that people can come in, interact, talk, get to know new people.

“We wanted Social-Laneway to be a place where people can chill out, have a great coffee or a meal and slow down from the speed of everyday life. With the launch of Redfern Village the whole precinct has been reinvigorated and we’re excited about the opportunities,” said Rob.
